Skull Tattoo Designs

Today skulls are starting to also be associated with life in a way. If a skull represents death then it can also be a reminder to us that life is short and to live each day to it's fullest a sort of symbolic "Carpe Diem".Now there are still those of course that get skull tattoo just to look tough and menacing but the number has definitely changed in the last few years. Those that want to look thought and menacing get tattoos like the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper is an depiction or a figure of death the one who comes and gets you at the end of your time. He wears black robes and has no face but carries a big farming sickle.

Angelina Jolie Tattoos

Angelina has a mix of tattoos on both her arms. Her left bicep previously had the name "Billy Bob" and a black tribal dragon on it. Both of those pieces have since been removed by laser treatments. In their place are now the latitude and longitude coordinates for the birthplaces of Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Pax. Be on the lookout for 43n42, 7e15 to be added to Angelina's arm sometime in the future! Those are the coordinates for Nice, France, birthplace of her new twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, born July 12, 2008!

Her left arm also has a quote from Tennessee Williams on it, reading "A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages." This covers a previous kanji tattoo.

On her right arm, she has an Arabic tattoo, the word meaning "will (determination)" covers up another tattoo from her marriag to Billy Bob Thornton. She also has the letter "H" on one of her arms along with the Roman numeral 13.

Eagle Tattoos

So a guy walks into a tattoo shop... sounds like a start of a joke, but seriously which tattoo shop you walk into could mean all the difference in how your tattoo comes out. Here I used an American Eagle Tattoo to cover a poorly done and totally backward Eagle Globe and Anchor Tattoo. A type of tattoo I take a lot of pride in doing well. So beware on where and who tattoos you, not all tattoo mistakes can be easily covered up. I will have a before picture of the covered tattoo soon.

With a dark background the green dragon and red and yellow flames create strong contrast that really make this full sleeve tattoo stand out. Awesome artwork after 22 hours under the needle.
Tiger Tattoos
Tigers are the largest and most powerful of all living cat species and easily camouflage themselves to their environment. Strong swimmers and feared by most other living things, the tiger is nothing if not a massive creature with great beauty and strength. As a result, tiger tattoos are among the most popular requests of tattoo lovers.

On males, the most common placement for tiger tattoos is on the upper arm, chest and back. Women generally prefer tattoos be placed on the shoulder, lower back or ankle. In order to recreate the animal in colorful detail, most tiger tattoos are medium to large in size. It may be possible to purchase smaller tiger tattoos if you prefer to only have a portrait-style tattoo of the face of a tiger. The cost of tiger tattoos will be largely dependent upon their size. As a general rule, larger tattoos are more expensive than smaller ones due to the fact that there is more work and ink involved in the process.

The best way to capture a unique image for tiger tattoos is to browse through wildlife magazines, photography books and/or internet photo galleries. By studying real life photos, you will have the opportunity to provide an image to the tattoo artist that is unlike the typical work that they do. Every tattoo parlor has sample tattoos for customers to choose from, but many prefer to select their images in different ways. By researching actual photos and poses of this impressive creature, individuals will be able to recreate tiger tattoos that are unlike the cookie cutter designs available at some parlors.

Johnny Depp Tattoo Designs

The egyptians believe the sparrow could deliver the souls of the dead to heaven. Another meaning would be for freedom, as some prisoners had sparrow tattoos. It was made popular when Captain Jack from Pirates of the Caribbean has a sparrow tattooed onto his arm with the name "jack". The actor Johnny Depp himself also has one.

Maori Tattoo Designs

Maori tattooing would usually start at adolescence, and was used to celebrate important events throughout life. The first tattoo marks the transition from childhood to adulthood and was done during a series of rites and rituals. Tattoo art was an important part of the Maori culture – in fact, people without tattoos were considered to be without status or worth.

Needless to say, tattooing by making incisions with a chisel was a painful process, but traditional Maori tattoos were meant to be more than decorative – they were a show of strength, courage and status. Both men and women were tattooed, though women substantially less (maybe because there was less of a need for them to show courage) and on other places (usually the lips and chin).

The process of Maori tattooing was a ritual, with music, chant and fasting – in fact, fasting was more or less a necessity, because the face would swell up from the wounds caused by the tattooing process!

The tattoo specialists in the Maori culture were usually men, although there are some women who also were tohunga ta moko (moko specialists).

Mechanic Arm Tattoo

Zombie Mechanic Arm Tattoo

This arm tattoo is one of the more interesting and unique designs I've come accross. It's like a cartoon zombie coming out of flames with a piston and wrench below. Makes me think of some of the artwork you see on monster trucks like Grave Digger
